Picnic Blanket or Beach Towel- Where should you bring your Happy Earth blanket?

There are so many beautiful spots in the world. Earth is filled with scenic views and vibrant landscapes. We at Happy Earth not only work to give back to the earth through our sustainable methods of production and donations to conservation, but also by promoting appreciation for the glory of this planet we call home. We encourage our employees and ambassadors to explore and take time to spend with nature, whatever that may be to them. Whether it is hiking to sit at the top of a  mountain or spending a day at the beach, we love to see where Happy Earth blankets will accompany you. Where is your favorite spot to lay out on your blanket? Here are a few of ours...

The Montauk Lighthouse offers a beautiful coastline where you can enjoy the fun historical atmosphere of a lighthouse while calming your soul on the rocks by the water. The lighthouse was constructed and opened in 1796. It has been a popular spot ever since.
This rocky beach is perfect for spreading out your blanket and letting the wind sweep your worries away. It is located in Montauk, New York on the tip of Long Island. You can climb to the top of the lighthouse to take in the view and stop in the gift shop to learn about the history of the structure and snag a nifty souvenir. You can soak up some sun while feeling the coastal breeze on your skin. It is a perfect location for a picnic for yourself or with friends or to take a dip in the water.

The next spot we chose for you is Bear Mountain State Park! This gorgeous mountain has so much to offer. Not only does it have many hiking opportunities, but it also offers a cozy inn, many small pavilions for gatherings, and even boat rentals. This is the perfect location for taking in the beauty of the world around you with the whole family.

At Bear Mountain, there is plenty of green space to lay out on a blanket amidst the beauty of nature. Whether having a picnic or taking a nap under the trees, the environment offers serenity for reflection. Make sure you are taking the time on your journey to take in all of your surroundings. You also may want that blanket as you work your way up the mountain at one of the breathtaking stop off points. The top of the mountain can get pretty windy so it will be the perfect tool to stay warm.

These are just two of so many beautiful places to visit. We hope you check these out and feel free to share some of your favorites!

What do Disney, Communications, Theatre, and Service have in common?

The answer is me! Here's why...

I've always had a dream of working for Disney, but I never was quite sure how to get there. When I was young, my parents took our family to Disney World every year. My two sisters and I knew everything there was to know about the 4 parks and 2 waterparks at Disney World. We could tell you where the closest bathroom was no matter where you were in the park without looking at a map for reference. The photo here is of the three of us (I am in the middle!). I don't quite know how long ago it was, but I am 21 years old now, for reference. My name is Amanda Moss and I am from Yonkers, New York. Working for Disney is still my ultimate goal, but for now, I can tell you a little bit of what I've been up to.

I currently attend High Point University and am an honors student in my junior year. I study Advertising, Public Relations, and Strategic Communications as well as Theatre. I’ve always had a passion for the arts, so I decided to take on Theatre as a minor. I found an interest in Communications after taking an introductory level course in the field during the first semester of my freshman year. I believe that combining both areas of study provides me with the skills to be very successful following graduation. I plan to pursue a graduate degree from my university in Communications and Business Leadership immediately following the completion of my undergraduate career. Connecting my current educational plans to my Disney plans, I develop the definition of my dream job, Public Relations Manager dealing with Opening Attractions in Disney Parks. Not only will I be equipped with the professional knowledge of the field, but also have the charismatic and confident persona that comes from studying theatre performance. This is the direction I plan to head in but I am open to new opportunities at all times.

Aside from my studies, I actively participate in community service through my involvement in Habitat for Humanity as well as the community service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega. I am on the executive board for the Habitat Club at my university and serve as the Social Media and Public Relations chair. This allows me to gain experience in my area of study while doing what I love, participating in builds! I participate in other service as well such as volunteering at a local therapeutic learning center called HORSEPOWER where I help clean horse stalls and other chores. I am also very involved in music. I can’t imagine my life without music. I am a member of the HPU Chamber Singers ensemble that practices five days a week. That may seem like a lot, and it is, but I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to make beautiful music every weekday. I also am involved in the music ministry at a local church

First Post

Welcome to my blog!! Well, I always thought that blogging might be a fun thing to try...so here I am. I used this website to make a blog for one of my classes and found that I actually really enjoyed it. I think I always have a lot to say so it could be something of an archive for me. It could also act as a bit of a portfolio for me!
